Bryce, Zion & North Rim
Day 6 - North Rim, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ

The Grand Canyon at sunrise.
Duane woke me up at 5 a.m. We went out to Bright Angel
Point to watch the sunrise. I took over 100 photos before breakfast.
More Grand Canyon Photos
We spent the rest of the morning,
resting and taking care odds and ends around camp.
At noon we attended a memorial
service in the Grand Canyon Lodge for the victims of Tuesday's terrorist attacks.
A lot of the park vehicles and shops
had small American flags. I tried to buy one to put on my bike. But, none were available.

A view of the Kaibab Trail from mule back.

Next, we went for a mule ride along the
Kaibab trail into the canyon. We saw Peter and Debbie hiking on the trail. We stopped about
1/2 way down the canyon to let the all-day riders pass. Then we began our ascent. Our guide
would stop briefly to let the mules rest and tell us about features in the canyon.
More Mule Ride Photos
After the ride, we went back out to
Bright Angel Point for more photos. Then, back to camp. We bought some steaks for supper
and cooked them over our campfire.
Right now we're making smores.
It's hard to type with sticky fingers.
Tomorrow, we head back to Fredonia.
Hopefully, with a tailwind this time.
